After rolling solo for over a year, we're finally ready to get back into action for 2021. Here are a few updates since we've last come together (if you just want to get to the good stuff about our upcoming season, scroll to the end):
Slow Roll Cleveland is now an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization! We are now eligible to accept donations and grants to directly benefit the people we care about the most, all of our riders and communities. We have added a formalized board of directors to continue to direct our efforts.
We said goodbye to our amazing outgoing President of the Board, Aubrey Welbers, and hello to our wonderful incoming president, Kevin Jones. Aubrey is leaving some BIG shoes to fill, but we think Kev is up to the task. He's been a Slow Roller from the early days and has always impressed us with his dedication to community service in all its forms. We can't wait to find out where he's taking us next. But, before we flip that switch, we want to acknowledge what a hero Aubrey has been to the ride the last few years. She led the charge on turning us into a functional non-profit organization and fully insured ride, and she has helped forge countless partnerships with organizations throughout the city. We couldn't have held it together the last few years without her.
Our partnership with MetroHealth will swing into full effect this year as we start rolling in June. We're extremely happy to be working with Cleveland's leading public hospital system, and look forward to their involvement in our rides, as a title sponsor, with their logo on Slow Roll Squad shirts.
We look forward to riding as much as you do. We are currently planning a slate of rides for 2021, beginning mid-June and running through the end of October. We're excited and looking forward to Slow Rolling again.
We will follow all safety measures necessary to keep our ridership safe while still creating a fun atmosphere for all riders. The 2021 schedule will be posted near the end of this month; check back here often for new info as we plan on rolling out info regularly again.
We can't wait to roll with you again!
